ROCK CLIMBING IN MAYRHOFEN
- at the Knorren Massif -

Ready for an adrenaline rush? If so, head on over to the Knorren Climbing Area on Mount Penken, where you’ll find the Knorren Nadel and Steinbock via ferratas. You can rent via ferrata sets and helmets at the Funsportstation (subject to availability; fees apply). The routes are suitable for beginners as well as experienced climbers. Hopefully you’re not afraid of heights.

Take part in the free workshop to get your first via ferrata experience at the Knorren Climbing Area on Mount Penken. Certified mountain guides will not only teach you how to use a via ferrata set but also what it takes to turn via ferratas into a safe adventure and an exciting alternative to hiking.

Panorama Trail Penken
- Leisurely hiking trail with potential for action -

Just because Penken is our action mountain doesn’t mean that you have to be an extreme athlete to experience spectacular adventures. The Panorama Trail, which is even suitable for baby buggies, leads past several places where you can see athletes in action. For example, you can watch daring climbers scaling rock faces at the Knorren Massif or true adrenaline junkies taking off from the two paragliding launch sites. Various lookouts also provide fantastic views of Mayrhofen’s mountains.

Funsportstation Penken
- Fun & Action for the entire family -

Are you up for a very special experience? If yes, be sure to visit the Funsportstation on Action Mountain Penken! Two different Mountain Scooter Tours offer a great way to explore the mountain on wheels and our Motor Skills Parcours, with its 12 stations, is great fun for people of all ages and will really put your agility and balance to the test. The E‐Trial Parcours is yet another highlight. That’s where you’ll quickly find out who possesses agility, coordination skills, and steady nerves. The idyllic Mountain Playground, with swings, a climbing tower, a slide, and water elements, rounds things off and guarantees fun times even for your little ones.

Eagle's Stage Ahorn
- Kings of the sky -

Due to ongoing construction of a reservoir on Mount Ahorn, there won’t be any regular Birds of Prey Shows at the Eagle’s Stage Ahorn during the 2020 summer season. However, visitors can enter the Eagle’s Stage Ahorn free of charge Sunday to Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to visit falconers Didi, Waltraud, and Thomas and their beautiful Birds of Prey. During that time, you are welcome to watch the birds doing training flights and ask whatever questions you might have. Please note that, because of the construction, daily schedules are subject to change and restrictions may occur at any time.

Sunrise Gondola
- Impressive nature experience -

Leisure Mountain Ahorn is an incredible place to watch the sunrise! Every Thursday morning, the Ahornbahn takes you up to the Ahorn Plateau before the sun rises. As you watch the sun’s first rays appear above the peaks of the Zillertal Alps and slowly turn from bluish purple to bright pink to warm gold, you’ll realize that getting up so early was well worth the effort.
 

Our tip for all hikers: Get an early morning start and go for a hike up to the Ahornspitze or along the Aschaffenburger Höhenweg!
