Surrounded by majestic mountain scenery, the Funsportstation offers thrill seekers big and small sporty activities that you don’t get to participate in any old day. Our two different Mountain Scooters Tours are a great way to explore the mountain while the Funballz allow you to run and roll on the water without getting wet. The Motor Skills Parcours, which opened last summer, is suitable for all ages and will put your agility and balance to the test at 12 stations. The E-Trial Parcours is another highlight. It quickly becomes obvious who possesses agility, coordination, and steady nerves! Finally, the idyllic Mountain Playground, with its swings, climbing tower, slide, and water station, is a great place even for your little ones and guarantees a fun and entertaining time.

Discover Mayrhofen – a hiking paradise!
There are plenty of hiking and mountaineering tours in Mayrhofen im Zillertal. On more than 372 square kilometers, you will find both easy and challenging hikes that provide incredible views of the surrounding mountains. You won’t go hungry here in the mountains either. Numerous huts and mountain restaurants invite you to take a break, grab a drink, and enjoy some delicious food from the region.
Leisure Mountain Ahorn is the gateway to the Zillertal Alps High Alpine Nature Park, which covers 422 km², starting at 1,000 meters above sea level at the mountaineering town of Ginzling and reaching up to 3,509 meters above sea level at the summit of Hochfeiler. In summer, the Zillertal Alps High Alpine Nature Park team offers a comprehensive hiking and active program. Your expert guides will see to it that the time you spend in the nature park will really come alive.

The Leisure Trail, which is suitable for baby buggies, covers the entire Ahorn Plateau and provides valuable information about the varied flora and fauna of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park Zillertaler Alpen. You’ll also be treated to incredible
panoramas and views at our Eagle’s View, Zillertal, Stilluptal, and Filzenalm viewing platforms, or you can sit back and relax at the Leisure Square in front of the Ahornbahn mountain station or at one of several rest places.
New: Hiking Trail Filzenkogel
The redesigned hiking trail to the Filzenkogel gives all summiteers a perfect opportunity to take in the impressive scenery and record their names in the summit log.The round trip takes about 2 hours.
Tip: Lake Ahornsee offers many places to relax after your summit tour.
Ready to get your adrenalin pumping? If so, head on over to the Knorren Climbing Area where you find the two via ferratas "Knorren Nadel" and "Steinbock". You can rent via ferrata sets at the Funsportstation (subject to availability, for a fee), but be sure to bring along your own courage.

Via ferratas "Steinbock" and "Knorren Nadel"
For those who want to get a taste of the vertical world, there are two via ferratas at the Knorren climbing area on Action Mountain Penken. The Knorren Nadel via ferrata is suitable for beginners and starts at the foot of the Knorren climbing area. With its two rope bridges and the viewing platform on top of the Knorren Nadel you should be prepared for a touch of vertigo.
In the lower third of the Knorren wall you find the Steinbock via ferrata, which is designed for more advanced climbers. After a steep start you are rewarded with impressive views of the Zillertal Alps.
The two via ferratas meet again half way up the Knorren and you have to choose which way you want to go to reach the top.
- Knorren Nadel via ferrata: Difficulty level A/B, duration of about 90 minutes, suitable for beginners
- Steinbock via ferrata: Difficulty level B/C (medium), length of 180 meters, duration of about 45 minutes, 50 meters altitude difference, suitable for advanced climbers
- Please note that you must wear a helmet! Via ferrata sets and helmets can be rented for a fee at the Funsportstation (subject to availability)

Paragliding in Mayrhofen
Experience the feeling of freedom and the spectacular views on a tandem flight from the Action Mountain Penken to Mayrhofen in the Zillertal. Mayrhofen is bookmarked by paragliders for its outstanding thermals. Take off to the skies and enjoy the amazing feeling of flying!
Mount Penken offers two paragliding launch sites:
- Launch site east – right at the Kombibahn Summit Station
- Launch site south – at the Knorren
If the weather is not quite up to flying, pilots with their equipment get the gondola trip down to the valley for free.

Saddle up and explore the mountains by bike
Penken is the perfect mountain because it is suitable for everyone. After all, biking way up in the mountains is the best, thanks to the breathtaking views, the crystal clear air, and the amazing feeling of being so high above everyday life down below. In just over eight minutes, the comfortable Penkenbahn takes guests from the center of Mayrhofen up to the mountain station at 1790 meters above sea level. Whoever wants to get even higher can continue up on one of the open-air gondolas of the Kombibahn Penken. You can easily take your bike along on either ropeway. Once at the summit, you will find various mountain bike tours for all skill levels.
