What’s hiking without a proper mountain feast? A delicious plate with traditional Zillertal bacon, with spicy mountain cheese and freshly baked bread will highlight your day and make your hike even more unforgettable. Sitting on an old wooden bench in front of the mountain hut and enjoying a spectacular view over the majestic three thousand metre high mountains. Our guests can also look forward to delicious moments in the valley. Romantic restaurants such as the nostalgic restaurant “Wirtshaus zum Griena” spoil their guests with typical Zillertal specialities. Things you should definitely not miss are Bauernbratl (traditional roast), a Melchermuas (sweet porridge), Zillertaler Krapfen (similar to donuts) or a Buttermilchschmarrn (cut up and sugared buttermilk pancake) along with a fresh Zillertal Beer. Very Zillertal-like is a visit to the Erlebnis-Sennerei (a traditional dairy) where real alp and mountain cheese is made from aromatic mountain milk.
