Moreover, there are 157 kilometres of slopes (guaranteed to be snow-swept), the legendary Harakiri run and, of course, a lot of traditionally classic Tyrolean mountain romance as well as numerous innovations and improvements for a perfect winter holiday. Loud as a whisper, it hovers in the sky. The giant, glass-enclosed gondola lift on the Ahornbahn cable car system is something to behold, any way you look at it. This lift takes just 6 minutes to travel 1300m – from the centre of Mayrhofen all the way to the summit station, 2000m above sea level. Along the way, the largest gondola lift in Austria treats up to 160 guests at a time to a breathtaking view of the Zillertal and Tux Alps. Once they’ve reached the summit, the adventuresome are quickly tempted by perfect pistes made for classy cruising and carving. Not without reason, the Ahorn Mountain is called Leisure Mountain.
