Thomas Klocker wins Groms Open in the Vans Penken Park
It finally all went down on Saturday: The Vans Penken Park had all four lines shaped perfectly and as if that would not be enough - the pipe was finished as well.
The Rookie Contest didn't take place on kickers that were too big though, however, 14 riders had the Public Line to themselve to show what they had learned. They rocked four boxes and rails and two medium sized kickers and the judges, Bernd Mandlberger and Beckna only two of them, watched and judged 5 runs of the grommies. Despite changing winds, all riders went full speed and landed bs threes, cab fives und Nose to Tailslides solidly and clean. Wolle Nyvelt, Rudi Kröll and other pros took a cloder look at the next generation of shredders. Tom Klockner was the one who convinced the judges in the finale of six: he showed clean switch Nosepress on the kinkrail and bs sevens. After the contest, a small winners ceremony took place which, at the same time, was like second Christmas for all the riders because Hot-Zone, The Seeker and Vans sponsored the event with some stuff.:0) The party was further celebrated in the Scotland Yard Pub at the Vans Opening Party. The Disodogs who normally host the Trix and Flix Parties, provided good soundt!
For those who were not there and missed the cool party or even worse the park....Cheryl Maas, Tyler Chorlton, Tobi Strauss, Silli Mittermüller Lisa Filzmoser, Sani Alibabic and other pros are currently training in the Vans Penken Park for the European Open...Also see u there!!!?
